Geothermal Energy

Download Teacher's GuideThe Where in the World Is Geothermal Energy? activity asks students to label on a world map five countries where geothermal energy is produced. Students will then create their own symbol for geothermal energy and use it to label these five countries.

Before students begin, brainstorm some possibilities for geothermal symbols.

Extension:

  • Ask students to outline on the map and place their geothermal symbol on five additional countries from the list.
  • Have students research a specific place in the United States where hot springs or geysers are found and share details about it with the class.
